Using an Airport or Airport Express Printer is very easy in Ubuntu and I suspect other recent major Linux releases. Below is an example on how to set up an airport printer in Ubuntu Linux 10.4. Simply: 1) locate a Post Script (PPD) printer driver for the make/model of your printer. 2) Identify the IP of the Airport the printer is attached to. 3) In Gnome, Goto> "System" > "Administration" > "Printing". 4) Click the Add Button, Select "Find Network Printer" and click Find or press enter. 5) The wizard will suggest a port: ie: 9100, click "Forward". 6) The wizard will search for drivers. Supply your PPD file when this fails. 7) Continue on with the prompts and inputs and print a Test page. |
